TTT 43. Favorite books of 2015.

Hosted by: The broke and the bookish.

This time we get to pick our 10 favorite books of 2015 so far. I have read a total of 62 books so far and here are the ones that blew me away:

1. Sarah J. Maas – A court of thorns and roses.
2. Sharon Biggs Waller – A mad wicked folly.
3. R.C Lewis – Stitching Snow.
4. Victoria Schwab – A darker shade of magic.
5. Kasie West – The fill-in boyfriend.
6. Naomi Novik – Uprooted.
7. Rae Carson – Walk on earth a stranger.
8. Mindy McGinnis – A madness so discreet.
9. Jodi Meadows – The orphan queen.
10. Samantha Shannon – The mime order.

A court of thorns and roses inspired me to make a movie cast post and it gave a whole new meaning to my favorite fairytale of all time. I loved everything about it and it’s promises to become an amazing series.
A mad, wicked folly features one of the best things: a strong and brave girl who stands up for her believes.
Stitching snow blew me away. All the negative reviews still surprise me, because this book has a great romance, a strong heroine and an unexpected depth.

A Darker Shade final for Irene186604472254476417564519

A darker shade of magic is hands-down one of the best fantasy books I’ve read in a long time. Alternative versions of London and a girl crossed dressed as a guy who aspires to be a pirate? YES.
The fill-in boyfriend was even more prove what a great storyteller Kasie West is. I mean, her contemporary book made its way on my top 10 list. Who would have thought?
Uprooted is simply the best.
I have a lot of love for Rae Carson’s The girl of fire and thorns series and with this new book she showed me again that she is a really gifted author. Walk on earth a stranger was fantastic.

I fell in love with Not a drop to drink and its sequel In a handful of dust. Mindy McGinnis did it again with A madness so discreet.
I never thought I would fall in love with The orphan queen as much as I did, but it was such a complete story; everything felt right.
I wasn’t blown away by the Bone season, because of the confusing world-building, but boy! Samantha made everything right with The mime order. Exciting and thrilling sequel.

Do we have any books in common? What was your favorite top 3 books this year?

  1. A Court of Thorns and Roses was absolutely magical, wasn't it? I'm so excited for the next one, just because we need to find out what happens next to Feyre (and Tam) (and Lucien) (and Rhys). Also, yay for The Orphan Queen being on this list! It's such a great fantasy, and I'm excited to see what Wil (and Black Knife) (and Tobiah) (and James) get up to next ;)

    1. You are the third person who liked Stitching snow, great. It's good to see there are other people too, because I see so much negativity around that one.

  8. I totally agree with A Court of Thorns and Roses!! I also just finished A Darker Shade of Magic TODAY, and while it was a little hard for me to get into at first (I blame my The-Wrath-and-the-Dawn-hangover) I ended up really liking it and I'm eager for the next book!

My top three were 1) The Wrath and the Dawn (SO SO GOOD), 2) ACOTAR ;D and 3) Throne of Glass! :D

I probably should pick up something from Victoria Schwab soon too; I've not red anything by her O_O I'm so glad all these books are on your list! 8/10 of these are on my TBR, and I probably should add the other two :P Thanks for sharing Mel! :)

  20. I really want to read Stitching Snow because come'on, that cover is GORGEOUS, but I heard it's very similar to The Lunar Chronicles series? sooo...I'm debating whether I should still read it or not since I don't want to read another series that is similar to another series I've already read. I'm glad you liked it though so maybe I'll read it in the future. And I'm soo glad you thought Walk on Earth(...) was fantastic! I'm going to read it soon and I hope it won't disappoint me.
