The last time I did a Top Ten Tuesday was March 10th, so I figured it was time to join again. I always like to make TBR lists (and I always suck at completing them) and I really want to succeed this time. I decided to pick books with certain themes, so here is what I came up with:
The everyone loves them so I MUST read them as soon as possible books.

I love The Raven Boy cycle by Maggie Stiefvater and I’ve heard good things about
The scorpio races. I bought this book not too long ago and I can’t wait to pick up this pretty edition.
Elizabeth Wein – Code name verity sounds like such an interesting story and I am ready for all the feelings. You can’t go around the blogosphere without stumbling on
Renée Ahdieh – The wrath and the dawn. It is a retelling of A thousand and one night, so this sounds right up my alley.
The I can finally finish this series conclusion.

Susan Ee surprised me with her bloody series, featuring
Angelfall and World After. I have heard mixed things about ir, but I can’t wait to see more of Penryn in
End of days. Victoria Schwab can’t do anything wrong. I was blown away by A darker shade of magic, I liked Vicious and I fell in love with The archived. It’s about time I start
The unbound (
I just found out this is not the last book, but she will self-publish a third book at some point. Thanks to Debby for making me aware of that). A.C Gaughen hooked me with Scarlet and destroyed me with Lady Thief. My body is ready for
Lion heart.
The gimme all the fantasy books.

My friend
Christina has been raving about this book, so I knew I had to buy it.
The glass sentence has an interesting promise and I can’t wait to dive into this world.
The storyspinner talks about magical abilities, a quest and a princess. You don’t have to say any more words to make me excited.
The you can’t have enough fairytales in your life tales.

The glass casket is supposed to be a loose retelling of Snow white and I’m all in for darker fairytales.
Valiant uses a less-popular fairytale and I wish we got more of those too. This one features gender bending and I can’t get enough of that!
What are you planning to read this summer?
(The Unbound is not the end of the series, the third book will happen at some point.)
ReplyDelete(But yes, read it.)
After reading and loving The Raven Boys, The Scorpio Races is on my TBR as well! Especially since it's also a standalone, which isn't something you see a lot with fantasy. I'm really looking forward to reading The Wrath and the Dawn as well. I've heard AMAZING things about it and the idea of a 1001 Nights retelling is just so intriguing to me and that cover is super pretty as well.
ReplyDeleteI read the Archived a while ago and still haven't read The Unbound either so that's on my list and so is The Storyspinner! I got it maybe a month or more ago and still haven't touched it.
Man, I'm just reading your list and realizing there are all these books I've been meaning to read but still haven't gotten to yet. Serves as a good reminder though to get started on them though! I love your list and hopefully you get to all of them this summer! :)
Ohhh I absolutely loved The Scorpio Races, The Wrath and the Dawn, and The Unbound! I can’t wait for the sequels to the two latter - even if it will take like way too long (for me) for book three from Schwab to show up. I just adore Mac and Wes so much, but Leave the Window Open is a nice short story to read afterward to give a bit more of a conclusion :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these yet. D: The Scorpio Races has been on my TBR for way too long. I finally read The Archived this year, so I may read The Unbound before too long (maybe this summer, maybe later). I'm planning to read End of Days this summer for sure, though. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
You have some awesome books to look forward to Mel! I was thinking of adding The Wrath and the Dawn to my tbr too, but I didn't :( so I can't wait to see how you get on with it. I hope you enjoy all your books! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Wrath and the Dawn is pretty good! I wasn't absolutely blown away, so definitely lower your expectations. I think I'll be picking up Code Name Verity this summer too! And I'm dying to read The Storyspinner. I'm excited to see your reviews of these!!
ReplyDeleteOOoh very nice! I still need to read The Wrath and the Dawn! As you can see by my list! LOL! And I still need to read End of Days and The Scorpio Races!
ReplyDeleteThe Storyspinner is one I find myself debating over lately and The Glass Casket was an okay read for me. It was definitely mysterious though! Hope you enjoy them all this summer!
Here's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Excellent picks. There are so many of these I want to read, but I don't currently own them and that was the theme for today's TTT for me, to try and encourage me to actually read them! Far too many books to lust after! R x

ReplyDeleteLion Heart and End of Days were fantastic conclusions - I adored both. <3
Happy reading to you, lady!
The Storyspinner was fantastic! I hope you enjoy it. I adored Valiant as well--the role reversals were incredibly well-done. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both The Scorpio Races and Code Name Verity, but I felt like no one warned me that they start off slow, so this is your warning! But both are definitely worthwhile reads!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how you gave all of these books a category, that's so creative ^^ I hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! The Storyspinner is one that has been on my TBR for a while!
ReplyDeleteI just finished THE WRATH AND THE DAWN the other day, and I love, love, loved it! It was brilliant! <3 I haven't actually read anything else on your list, but I've heard of most of them! Happt reading :)

CODE NAME VERITY IS GOOD. Especially the second half! I'm also currently reading The Storyspinner! And even though I like it, there are a LOT of POVs!
ReplyDeleteWell Mel, the only one out of your picks that I have read is The Wrath and the Dawn, but I really enjoyed it! I hope you'll feel the same way :) I also NEED to read The Scorpio Races (Stiefvater ♥), Unbound, Storyspinner and Code Name Verity, not to mention Angelfall. I wish you the best of luck with your Summer tbr :D
ReplyDeleteYes! Please read code name verity, it's amazing! :) good list! Thanks for stopping by at http://adreamfrommyheart.blogspot.com/?m=1
ReplyDeleteI really should read The Scorpio Races sometime, I loved The Raven Cycle, so I know she would do a wonderful job. Thanks for stopping by today!
ReplyDeleteWoo, I'm excited for you to read The Scorpio Races and Code Name Verity because those ones were definite 5 Star reads for me and they both hold a specie place in my heart. So many feelings! Remember to have patience with Code Name Verity because it can be a little confusing and slow going at the beginning. And as for the rest, I have not read any of them yet, but they are all on my tbr as well!
ReplyDeleteCode Name Verity is a must. So brilliant and heartbreaking. I had kind of forgotten about Valiant, I really want to read that. But my favorite new fairy tale retelling author is Kate Forsyth. I have read Bitter Greens and The Wild Girl and they were both terrific!
ReplyDeleteFantastic list :-) I adored Code Name Verity. It's such a good book :-) I really want to read Valiant too. Thank you for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteHey :)
ReplyDeleteThese books sound really good! "The scorpio races" is supposed to be really cool and I can't wait to finally read "The Wrath and the dawn" because I got it as an ARC^^

THE GLASS CASKET AND THE WRATH AND THE DAWN ARE SO ABSOLUTELY AMAZING MEL. READ THEM. READ THEM ASAP. AHHHHHHHH.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these but I want to read The Wrath and The Dawn been hearing many good things about it and the Angelfall series too! I love fantasy so this list is very cool to me, great job!
ReplyDeleteI 100% approve of you reading The Scorpio Races! That's my favorite Maggie Stiefvater novel. So atmospheric and captivating and beautifully written! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteI've only read The Wrath and the Dawn which is one of my favorites this year. Going to be reading The Archived and The Unbound soon and still need to read Lady Thief.
ReplyDeleteThe Glass Sentence looks really interesting and yay for The Scorpio Races!
Happy summer reading, Mel! =D
Storyspinner is sooo good! I really loved that one. I want to read The Scorpio Races as well -- I've heard great things and it's been on my TBR for months
ReplyDeleteThe first three books are 3 of my favorites so I really hope you love them! And then besides Lion Heart, it's as if I wrote this post myself - I need to read all of these too!
ReplyDeleteValiant looks so adorable. I bought that book when it came out. It sounds just way too awesome to pass up.
ReplyDeleteYour list looks awesome, End of Days was good, but I loved the books before that so much better. Maybe you might like it better though? Happy reading :) <3 Benish | Feminist Reflections
