Showcase Sunday 23. Bargain.

Two days ago I found my heaven on earth. There is this store and I always walked passed by it. I decided to take a look and it is now my favorite bookstore ever. You know that I live in The Netherlands and it’s hard to find English YA books in the store – and if they have a small selection, they are so expensive. I always have to order them from TBD. This store has a huge selection of English YA (with affordable prices) and upstairs, there is this bargain and second hand area. I almost did my happy dance when I picked up these lovely books:

I couldn’t believe the prices and I got some extra discount because I’m a student. They look like new books, except Soulless: the spine is a little cracked.

Stephenie Meyer – The host (gifted by a friend)
Sarah Zettel – Dust girl.
Kenneth Oppel – This dark endeavor.
Laini Taylor – Daughter of smoke & bone (example, this one was only 2,50!)
Gail Carriger – Soulless (and this one 0,90 cents)
Christine Cody – Bloodlands.

  1. Woohoo! Sounds like an awesome bookstore :D I've got to find out what the fuss about these Mila books is because everyone seems to be reading them... Enjoy all your books! :)

  2. Aaaaah! I know how that feels. We only have 2 or 3 bookshops that sell English books and most of them have quite a small selection (AND they're a lot more expensive than TBD). I recently found a second hand English bookshop that is based here in Hungary - it's just an online one but still. :)

So happy for you and hope you enjoy all your new books!

    1. The American Book Center! I really don't know why it took me so long to take a look. Perhaps because I'm not that long into YA, but it's fantastic there <3

    2. Daaaamn, Amsterdam and Den Haag. I live in Rotterdam. Hmm. But I really want to go there sometime. Have you ever been to Waterstones in Amsterdam, seriously.. do it. They have SO MANY great books

    3. No, I've never been there before! How are the prices there? I would love to go there! I might persuade my boyfriend to go with me soon :p

    4. Most of the books from Waterstone costs around €10 (in Belgium). But I think that you can also find cheaper ones :)

    5. Yeah hmm.. they're not very cheap. But it's just cool to see all those wonderful titles in one place :)

  4. I love Laini Taylor's books, though I enjoyed Days of Blood and Starlight a little more than Daughter of Smoke and Bone. But still a brilliant read! :) The Host was a pleasant surprise for me. I'm not the biggest fan of the Twilight books, but I really liked The Host. I hope you enjoy it! Great haul, Mel. :)

  8. Aaaah, Daughter of Smoke and Bone! I'm dying to get my hands on a copy of that book, and I really, really hope you enjoy it as much as everyone else seems to! That front cover is gorgeous, too.

Mila 2.0 is a book I've been seeing everywhere lately, and I'm eager to know what all the fuss is about. The Host sounds phenomenal, and although I was never the biggest Twilight fan out there, I really want to read it.

I hope you enjoy all of your lovely new books, Mel. I will be looking forward to your reviews. :)
