Showcase Sunday 13. Free books.

This week, I got some amazing books. Most of them for free! There was a book sale and I helped them out, so I got to pick some books as a thank-you-gift! Netgalley was also kind enough to provide me with another book and I bought myself a little present. Just because I can.

Free books.
I only have to buy book 1, Vampire academy. I'm very happy that I got these!
Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2)Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3)Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4)

Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5)Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6)

I'm still curious about this series, but I hear nothing but negative things. So it was fantastic that I could take them for free! House of night.

Betrayed (House of Night, #2)Untamed (House of Night, #4)Hunted (House of Night, #5)
Tempted (House of Night, #6) Burned (House of Night, #7)Awakened (House of Night, #8)

I decided to snag these away as well.
God's SpyThe Venetian Betrayal (Cotton Malone, #3)The Fallen Blade (The Assassini, #1)
God's spy.
The venetian betrayal.
The fallen blade.

Netgalley.

Broken
A.E Rought - Broken.
Expected publication:
January 8th 2013 by Strange Chemistry.

Imagine a modern spin on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein where a young couple's undying love and the grief of a father pushed beyond sanity could spell the destruction of them all.

Bought.
Finally! Ruth Frances Long - The treachery of beautiful things.
The Treachery of Beautiful Things
A darkly compelling mix of romance, fairy tale, and suspense from a new voice in teen fiction. The trees swallowed her brother whole, and Jenny was there to see it. Now seventeen, she revisits the woods where Tom was taken, resolving to say good-bye at last. Instead, she's lured into the trees, where she finds strange and dangerous creatures who seem to consider her the threat. Among them is Jack, mercurial and magnetic, with secrets of his own. Determined to find her brother, with or without Jack's help, Jenny struggles to navigate a faerie world where stunning beauty masks some of the most treacherous evils, and she's faced with a choice between salvation or sacrifice--and not just her own.

Fantastic week for me. Link me up with your haul!

  17. I really need to read the Vampire Accademy series! I loved the first four books in the HoN series, but from there they just got boring, for me, and went in a completely random direction. Clockwork Angel! I have that to read, too. It looks so great.(:

    Happy reading!<3

  24. VAMPIRE ACADEMY!! <3

I wasn't a huge fan (or a fan at all) of House of Night, but I still read the first five books for some odd reason. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did :)

  28. I adore the Vampire Academy series but never got into House of Night. Thats one of the nice ways of being paid - with books! :-)

  29. Need to get my hands on Treachery of Beautiful Things. Looks SO good! I personally did not like the House of Night series. I read 3(?) of the books, I think. Poor writing and a plot a wasn't interested in made me stop. Interested to see what you think. That's an AWESOME way of being paid for helping with a book sale, btw... *goes off to help random booksales*

  33. Free books are the best! I'm jealous about Treachery of Beautiful Things, as that's one I've been wanting to read for a long time, and I keep seeing Broken around on other people's lists this week, but swore I'd stay away from NetGalley. I hope you end up loving everything you picked up!
